Lisa Greenwald
Lisa Greenwald has worked in the insurance business for her entire career, starting as an intern in ACLI’s Public Affairs department and growing from entry level to CEO at Greenwald, where she now spearheads the firm’s strategic planning and oversees operations and marketing strategy. Lisa has over 15 years of experience in financial services and research consulting. Lisa is a storyteller, passionate about retirement and financial security, who specializes in designing thought leadership and PR programs. Her work focuses on retirement, life, and annuities as well as workplace wellness and financial protection. Lisa conducts qualitative and quantitative research with B2B audiences – employers, brokers, advisors – and B2C audiences – employees, policyholders, retirees, and Millennials. A long-time advocate of the convergence of health and wealth, Lisa leads well-established trend studies, including the Retirement Confidence Survey and Workplace Wellness Survey, with partner EBRI.
Lisa joined the team in 2004 and has a BA in Sociology at George Washington University.
Lisa Weber-Raley
Lisa Weber-Raley focuses on continuing Greenwald’s legacy of providing strong methodological expertise and consultation. Lisa ensures the company and its clients utilize best practice methods, industry-leading tools, and the highest levels of data privacy, security, and research ethics. Lisa is a practical researcher able to apply rigorous and complex methodologies and analysis to today’s world of sampling imperfections and the growing need for speedy, actionable research. Lisa is an expert in advanced statistical analysis, complex sampling, and weighting scheme design. Lisa’s topical areas of expertise are in healthcare and caregiving.
Lisa has an MA in Sociology from Indiana University with concentrations in Applied Research Methods and Medical Sociology. She has been a member of the Greenwald Research team since 2006.
Mathew Greenwald
Matt Greenwald founded the company in 1985 and is a recognized retirement research expert with more than 40 years of experience. Beginning in 2020, Matt focuses on strategic initiatives and partnerships for the company. He develops and oversees Syndicated Studies, is the director responsible for the Retirement Management Executive Forum (RMEF), and founded and runs the FIRST Group, an invitation-only group of financial services research experts. Matt is passionate about qualitative and quantitative research involving issues related to retirement savings and retirement income. He has written extensively about the demographic changes brought on by the Baby Boom generation, the value of annuitization, and changes in the financial attitudes and behaviors of the American public. He an inductee in the Insured Retirement Institute’s Hall of Fame and has his PhD in Sociology from Rutgers University.

Greg Hershberger
Greg Hershberger works with leading healthcare companies, benefits carriers, and large employers to uncover trends and challenges facing their businesses. He oversees both qualitative and quantitative research with employers and benefit brokers regarding carrier awareness, selection, and performance. Greg manages Greenwald’s Insider Panel for benefit brokers and consultants, probing them on industry trends and keeping panelists engaged. For his industry expertise and research rigor, Greg is a trusted consultant to several key health insurance and benefits clients. Greg joined the Greenwald team in 2011.
He has an MBA from University of Maryland and a BA in Public Policy & Political Science from Syracuse University.
Doug Kincaid
Doug Kincaid has more than 15 years of financial services and market research experience. Doug’s work focuses on retirement savings and retirement income studies for many of the nation’s leading financial services companies and trade associations. He manages two of Greenwald’s Syndicated Studies, the Retiree Insights Program and Guaranteed Lifetime Income Study, and is sought out for his insight on plan sponsor and participant views on retirement plans and income solutions. Doug also brings deep expertise in research methodologies and advanced analytics to the team. In his role, Doug is responsible for the strategic growth of Greenwald’s financial services practice.
Doug has an MA in Sociology from Indiana University and joined Greenwald in 2012.
Jill Koly
Jill Koly oversees IT and technical research operations for the company. She and her team manage all in-house database management and survey and data tabulation programming. Jill specializes in sample management and large-scale data collection. She ensures the security and proper handling of client-provided sample lists, manages compliance with HIPAA and other security protocols, and works with clients to develop custom, proprietary panels.
Jill has a BA in Applied Physics from Hiram College and joined Greenwald in 2003.
Eric Sondergeld
Eric Sondergeld is a seasoned researcher and strategic thought leader with experience in insurance, retirement, and investments. Sondergeld was most recently corporate vice president and director at LIMRA, leading the technology research and developmental and strategic research teams. In this role, he ensured LIMRA produced relevant research to help member companies effectively utilize technology, examines strategic issues that may impact the industry, and monitored trends in the global financial services marketplace. He spearheaded efforts to expand LIMRA’s research and determine new ways to ensure the data keeps pace with industry changes. He has also led LIMRA’s annuity, retirement, distribution, and international research programs.
Eric received a Bachelor of Science degree in applied mathematics from the University of Massachusetts, is a member of the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts and the Society of Actuaries. He joined the Greenwald Research team in April 2022.
Joanna Yu
Joanna Yu is a seasoned leader with over 15 years of direct management experience. A natural problem solver and mentor, she has built and led teams from many administrative departments, including Finance, Customer Service, IT, and Human Resources. Joanna has a passion for numbers and utilizes a strong analytical approach to financial management and conducts insightful assessments to initiate solutions for challenges. Joanna oversees and manages business operations at Greenwald.
Joanna has a BS from the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland. She joined Greenwald Research in 2023.
Matt Ceryanec
Matt Ceryanec brings market research experience in both healthcare and financial services to the Greenwald team, spending nearly a decade on research teams within the corporate sector. Matt has developed a wide range of skillsets in the quantitative and qualitative areas of research, working extensively with employer, individual customer, and employee audiences. While he has a well-rounded background, including experience conducting interviews and focus groups, Matt specializes mostly in quantitative project scoping, planning, analysis and reporting.
Matt joined Greenwald in April 2022 and has a BA in Economics from The University of Iowa.
Brian Dewsbury
Bryan Dewsbury is Greenwald’s lead survey programmer, with over 20 years of experience managing the programming, data collection, analytic plans, and execution for online and mixed-mode surveys. Bryan is especially adept in programming complex surveys and formatting online surveys to align with clients’ branding. He works with others on his team to cultivate and maintain a database of financial professionals, such as life agents, RIAs, advisors, and brokers, who can be contacted for research purposes. Trained in both research and programming, Bryan works to bring innovative programming techniques, tools and vendors to Greenwald’s projects.
Bryan joined Greenwald in 1998 and has an MA in Political Science from American University.
Sara Rubinstein
Sara Rubinstein is a versatile researcher who manages all aspects of projects for her healthcare and financial services clients. She focuses on managing more complicated, mixed-mode quantitative research programs and for her advanced analytics expertise. Sara enjoys focusing on health and workplace benefits topics, understands both employer and employee audiences, and manages several trended thought leadership studies, including the Workplace Wellness Survey.
Sara joined Greenwald in 2014 and has a BS in Statistics from American University.
Sharon Ginsburg
Sharon Ginsburg has over 30 years of market research experience in all aspects of programming, sample management, and data collection. Sharon works with her team to help bring innovative techniques to Greenwald’s survey programming and is highly valued for speed and versatility.
Sharon has a BA in Human Resource Management from Temple University. She joined Greenwald Research in 2013.
Quinncee Payne
Quinncee Payne supports Greenwald’s strategic growth efforts, including company marketing, promotion of clients’ publicly-released research, and support for Greenwald’s Syndicated Studies and Executive Forums. Over the past decade, she has worked on projects for a wide range of financial services, employee benefits, and healthcare clients. Quinncee is especially talented in managing and analyzing large-scale qualitative projects and developing impactful reports and presentations.
Quinncee has a BA in Communications from James Madison University and a Master of Tourism Administration from The George Washington University School of Business. She joined Greenwald in 2010.
Alex Rather
Alex Rather is an experienced researcher with a rich background in market research, public-opinion polling, and social science research on healthcare, employee benefits, and retirement topics. At Greenwald she works on quantitative and qualitative research development, execution, analysis, and reporting.
Alex earned a BA in Labor and Employment Relations from Penn State University and a MPS in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from University of Maryland, Baltimore County. She joined Greenwald in 2024.
Ravneet Sandhu
Ravneet Kaur Sandhu is a market researcher who assists with project management, research design, fieldwork coordination and reporting at Greenwald Research. She graduated with a MSc in Psychology from Villanova University, and a BA in English Literature and Psychology from Cedar Crest College. She likes to read and write fiction in her spare time.
