HR Manager - Part Time

The HR Manager manages and performs a wide range of human resources, employee benefits, and payroll functions. This role serves as the point of contact for employees for HR matters and works closely with the company’s senior leadership to develop policies and procedures that supports the organization’s goals. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a high level of discretion are paramount in this role. The HR Manager should be the champion of the company’s commitment to its employees and will support company leadership in executing related strategic initiatives.



  • Payroll Administration
    • Administer bi-monthly payroll for the company using ADP
      • Calculate tax, benefits, and payroll withholdings and verify payroll correctness
      • Issue and manage direct deposits
      • Manage 401k, HSA/FSA, and transportation benefits contributions
    • Update systems with new and changing employee information
    • Issue employee expense reimbursement via ADP
    • Maintain petty cash
  • Benefits Administration
    • Administer health and wellness plans, including enrollments and terminations
    • Process required documents through payroll and insurance providers/brokers to ensure accurate recordkeeping and proper deductions
    • Serve as the liaison between outside benefits broker (medical, disability, life, etc.) and handle all necessary employee updates and changes, including working closely with and providing change information to all necessary parties
    • Track PTO banks and leave of absence requests
    • Coordinate with broker and/or insurance companies to resolve employee insurance issues
    • Manage company HR materials, including maintaining employee-facing benefits summaries, descriptions, and common forms in network folders
    • Assist with annual open enrollment period, including gathering, preparing, and distributing materials from broker/carriers
    • Review company benefit plans annually and make changes as needed in consultation with HR support services and company’s senior leadership
  • Human Resources
    • Develop/organize processes for maintaining and updating personnel records and files, including employee handbook, job descriptions, performance reviews, and new hire and termination information
    • Manage the annual performance review process
    • Develop, organize, and refine HR policies and procedures, ensuring that they are compliant with regulations
    • Maintain awareness and understanding of employment legislation and regulations
    • Assist in the hiring process, including monitoring active listings, distributing incoming resumes to hiring managers, ensuring complete applications and paperwork, scheduling interviews, and managing the onboarding process for new hires
    • Establish and conduct training programs as needed
    • Plan and coordinate employee engagement activities, including virtual and in-person events
    • Collect data on company commitment to employees through employee surveys and 360 review processes
    • Support senior management in executing HR/payroll/benefits tasks and initiatives as needed
    • Provide guidance regarding HR matters to both employees and company leadership
    • Liaise with outside counsel regarding HR matters as appropriate

Desired Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years’ experience in HR, payroll, and benefits administration
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing ADP Payroll and Microsoft Office products
  • Experience developing corporate HR policies and procedures
